Dinner Madness
I hear of families whose dinners cost under 2 dollars to make and I get really confused. I think we must be pigs and my kids are only ages 4, 3, and 10 months. What on earth are we going to do when they're bigger! For dinner last night we ate:
1 pkg bacon
1 pkg breakfast sausage
1 batch pancakes
1 cantaloupe
1 can peaches
some cottage cheese
orange juice
Please tell me we aren't the only ones eating this much!!!!

Family Home Evening
It seems like one of the purposes of blogs is to write up the things your family does well. Almost in a bragging fashion. Sometimes when I've read through many friend's blogs I get down on myself because blogs often put forth this "I'm perfect, life is perfect" feel. Intellectually I understand this isn't true and I know no one's blog I read had that intention, but what can I say- I'm a pregnant hormonal woman. With all that said, know that while my life isn't all that peachy my life is good, and we do get a few things right as a family.
We have been much better at scripture study and Family Home Evening. We've made it into chapter 7 of 1st Nephi, more importantly we've been reading every day for over 2 weeks! After reading the account of Nephi and Laban the boys have been most anxious to act this out. We were going to do it last Monday, but the kids were misbehaving and we had to change the lesson. Last night we finally got to do it. Joseph got to be the 'bad guy' Laban and Derek got to be Nephi and kill him. Lorelei had a great time- as always.
Joseph being Laban.
Nephi giving up all his precious things and money.
Laban gleefully chasing them away.
Nephi killing Laban

Belly Shot and News
I suppose it's time for an updated "see how large i'm getting" photo.
24 1/2 weeks and yes I do feel it is necessary for me to include that 1/2 a week.
Moving on to the topic of news. We have had quite the week. Last Thursday Frank mailed out an application for a assistant district attorney position (well, actually, he mailed out 11 applications). The next day we get a phone call from one asking for an interview. So the following Tuesday we make a day trip and drop me and the kids off at the free natural science (aka dinosaurs) museum in Raleigh. Frank continues onto his interview and after picks us up. We ended up being at the museum for 4 1/2 hours which was a little too long, but the kids were remarkably well behaved.
Wednesday (the next day) we get a phone call from them offering the position contingent upon passing the bar. We won't get those results until early September. So assuming all goes well, we will be moving very shortly to a very small town in Eastern North Carolina. We are excited; but I am a little nervous about living in a small town. Frank isn't nervous yet as his pessimistic side is still skeptical about the bar.

Pasta Italia
This is my fourth pregnancy and yet the first time I've experienced cravings. My latest one is Pasta Italia. We have had this for dinner 4 times in the last two weeks and each time I make it, it lasts for two days. I got this recipe from my SIL Jennie and love it so much I'm posting the easy recipe. I will post both Jennie's dressing and my version of it.
1 lbs pene pasta
8-10 roma tomatoes
1 lbs mozarella cheese made with whole milk- pollio (sp? brand)
1 basil plant
Jennie's Dressing:
1/2 c olive oil
1/3 c red wine vinegar
1 t salt
my Dressing:
1/4 c olive oil
1/6 c apple cider vinegar (1/6 = 2 T and 2 t)
1/2 t salt
Enjoy!

Photo Dump
Joseph is showing off his spiderman costume
Frank reading to the kids
She is thinking, "oh yes, I'm so big and everyone loves me"
She is the biggest ham whenever the camera comes out!
No Dad, this picture is not to show off her cheeks but for you to look at those teeth.
Joseph and Derek looking very handsome in their church clothes. No matter what Joseph just doesn't seem to ever have that all the way put together look. These pictures also show off the height difference between the two boys. Why on earth are people still asking if they are twins??

Joseph Makes Me Laugh
Last night as Joseph was getting ready for bed, he exclaimed to me that he really had to pee. He climbs onto the potty, sits down, and says to me, "This penis is SO big I need two hands!" I run out of the room laughing to tell Frank.

Elastics and Zelda
I saw a package of colored hair elastics at the store and had to buy them. Luckily for me, her hair is just long enough to get one to stay in. Derek and Joseph keep begging me to put them in her hair. She doesn't like it so much because I'm not very practiced and usually end up pulling her hair.

Lorelei knows that she is part of the family. When Daddy and the boys were playing Zelda on the computer she came crawling over complaining very loudly until she joined them.
